COVID-19 Resident Update
Below is an update regarding our office operations during the current ‘shelter in place’ and ‘stay at home’ orders by Santa Clara County and the state of California.
- Rent: In order to minimize the need to leave your home, we are urging residents to pay rent online. You can do so through the tenant portal here: https://cornerstone.appfolio.com/connect Paying rent online by ‘e-check’ is free, if you pay by credit card there is a convenience fee. Rent may be paid in person to our dropbox on the exterior of the building. It is clearly labeled ‘Cornerstone Property Management Drop Box’ with our logo.
Note: Many municipalities have passed eviction moratoria, whereby if you have suffered a job loss or other substantial loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic and are unable to pay rent, you may qualify for a rent deferment. Deferred rents will still be due after the ‘shelter in place’ order is lifted, most likely under a payment plan. Each city and county appear to have varying regulations regarding the moratoria. We will follow the regulations for the city or county in which your property is located. We will waive late fees during the shelter-in-place order for those with documented income disruption. - Maintenance: If you do not have access to our maintenance portal, Property Meld, please visit the link below and click ‘Request an Invite’: https://app.propertymeld.com/tenant/cornerstone-property-management
We’ve remained in touch with our maintenance vendors and have plumbing, heating and air conditioning, appliance, and electrical companies available. Please do not hesitate to submit a maintenance request especially if there is an emergency. Maintenance requests will be prioritized so that emergencies can be handled first. Please be aware that non-urgent requests will be completed based on our vendors availability given that some companies will have limited hours or have completely shut down. Some non-urgent requests may be delayed until after the shelter in place order is lifted. When submitting your maintenance request, please let us know if you have traveled out of the country within the last month or if you or a member of your household have any symptoms of illness. Do not be alarmed if maintenance professionals wear a mask, gloves or other personal protective equipment. This is for their safety.
